Celebrating English Month 2025 with the hype and melodious SHS Musical Play

The ICSQC covered court came alive with a dramatic and lyrical afternoon as the Senior High School department celebrated the much-awaited English Month culmination on Monday, February 17, 2025. The event was filled with energy and the rhythm of dance, centered around the theme: “Promoting Multilingual Education Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace.”

SHS Student Council Organization hosted different activities for the English Month such as Slogan Making, Editorial Making, Spelling Bee, and Musical Play wherein ICSians displayed their knowledge and unveiled the creativity within them. As we celebrate this event, we're constantly reminded of the importance and significant role of the English language—to connect people and foster global understanding and cooperation.

Moreover, to add an extra layer of excitement while waiting for the awaited outcome, Ja Castro, Justin Samson, and Angelyca Bermejo wowed the crowd with their impressive dance grooves. In addition to that spectacular performance, the Out Of Ord3r also known as Triple O's band also performed an unforgettable intermission of OPM hits such as "14", "Your Song", and "Mundo" which made the crowd went wild.

The Musical Play was the highlight of the day—starting with the 3rd placer, Grade 11 Herodotus with a "Meteor Garden" inspired play. Following by the 2nd placer, prompted by the "The Greatest Showman" stage show of Grade 12 Copernicus, next to it was the lovely performance of Grade 11 Archimedes influenced by the "Matilda the Musical" based on Roald Dahl's 1988 novel. And lastly but not the least the trophy taker, Musical Play Champion 2025, Grade 11 Descartes—with a fantastic performance showcasing a "Love at first glance" lovestory of 2 lovely ladies.

Furthermore, different characters also received special awards:

Best in Character Portrayal: Jerah S. Valdez & Aeron De Guzman

Scene Stealer: Althea Casio & Angelyca Chelzy Bermejo

Overall Best Line Delivery: Jiehra Miralles

The English Month was successfully wrapped up with loud cheers and big smiles of SHS ICSians, it illustrate the triumphs, hardwork, and dedication of each other. May this event leave you an inspiring motivation to continue promoting multilingual education literacy and have a memorable and astonishing experiences and insight.
